C. Ellen Hart makes drawings, paintings and mixed media collage. A third generation Texas artist, Hart earned her BFA in Painting at the University of Houston in 1985, winning a Sarah Campbell Blaffer Scholarship Award in 1984.

Since that time she has exhibited in California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, Texas, Virginia and Washington DC. While living in the Washington, DC area Hart was elected a Resident Artist at the Arlington Arts Center and a Fellow of Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Since returning to Texas she was a 2008 recipient of a Houston Arts Alliance Established Artist Fellowship grant for her Downtown Reflections and Bayou Reflections projects.

Recently Hart’s work has been exhibited with Yvonamor Fine Arts, The Gallery At Brookwood, Brookshire, Texas, Marta Stafford Fine Arts, Marble Falls, Texas, and Water Street Gallery, Douglas, Michigan. Hart is pleased to be living and working in Houston again after several years in Washington, DC and St. Louis, Missouri.
